Right now, in every municipality, county and special district, the executives, legislators and residents are looking to their finance leadership for guidance: What are the short and long-term revenue impacts on our budget? How long is this going to last, and what will the recovery look like? What should we do with the budget this year, and how should we approach our next budget? And how do we communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders/council?

Join local government finance leaders, for an interactive discussion on:
  • Forecasting - whether we will see an L, U , V or W shaped recovery but the shape and length of the curve will impact local revenues and service needs for the next five years.
  • “Scenario-based planning” is a hot topic in the aftermath of COVID-19 because today even smaller jurisdictions need strategies and plans for likely recovery scenarios.
  • When and how hard-won “rainy-day” Economic Uncertainty Reserves are leveraged 
  • Effective communication with legislators, stakeholders, and the public is critical for sharing economic forecasts, building plans, and creating consensus supporting difficult decisions.

  • Participants will earn 1.0 hour of credit with the Ohio Treasurer of State’s Center for Public Investment Management (CPIM).
